The NKR Spotlight series celebrates the individuals whose work helps drive the culture, progress, and success of NKR. This May, we feature Camille Deatras, who has been part of the team for three years in an HR and Administrative role.

Throughout her time with the company, Camille has played an important role in supporting employees and the wider organization through a combination of HR and administrative responsibilities. Her typical day is a balance of planned tasks and unexpected situations, keeping her work dynamic and engaging. She usually begins by checking emails and following up on employee concerns or ongoing cases, then moves through responsibilities such as employee relations, onboarding, and administrative tasks. No two days are exactly the same, and that variety is something she values in her role.

What Camille enjoys most about her work is the opportunity to support people in meaningful ways. Whether it is helping resolve concerns, guiding employees, or simply being someone they can talk to, she finds fulfillment in knowing that her work helps create a positive and supportive workplace.

One achievement Camille is especially proud of during her time at NKR is helping strengthen the company’s employee relations policies. By handling real cases and listening closely to employee concerns, she was able to contribute insights that made these policies more practical, relevant, and responsive to actual workplace situations.

When asked what has made her stay with NKR for more than three years, Camille points to the people and the supportive team culture. She appreciates being part of a collaborative environment, and as a working mom, she also values the flexibility and understanding the company has shown toward her responsibilities outside of work.

Over the years, Camille has learned the importance of adaptability. Working in HR means navigating different situations, personalities, and challenges, and being able to adjust has helped her grow both professionally and personally. She also shares that NKR has helped her build confidence by giving her opportunities to take on new responsibilities, deepen her understanding of HR, and strengthen her problem-solving skills.

Outside of work, Camille enjoys spending time with her toddler, who keeps her active and busy. She also likes playing pickleball whenever she gets the chance and enjoys grabbing an iced coffee as her little daily treat. As a fun fact, Camille shares that she can function surprisingly well on very little sleep.

Throughout her time with the company, Jam has played an important role in supporting both NKR and our clients through recruitment. As a Technical Recruiter, she focuses on sourcing and connecting businesses with the right talent. Her day-to-day responsibilities include posting job opportunities, reviewing applications, and screening candidates for a range of roles. While recruitment is often centered on qualifications and experience, Jam values the opportunity to learn more about the people behind each application. What she enjoys most about her role is meeting individuals from different backgrounds and hearing the stories that go beyond what is written on a resume.

One of the most rewarding parts of Jam’s work has been seeing candidates she helped hire grow and succeed within the company. Being part of someone’s professional journey from the beginning and later watching them develop in their role is something she takes great pride in. These moments have made her work especially meaningful and have added to her sense of purpose at NKR.

When asked what has made her stay with NKR for three years, Jam describes the company as a place that feels like home. She appreciates being part of an environment where she feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow professionally. That sense of belonging, along with the opportunities for development, has made her experience with NKR both rewarding and fulfilling.

Outside of work, Jam enjoys spending her free time binge-watching her favorite series and relaxing with her three cats, one white, one black, and one orange. These simple interests reflect a side of her that is grounded, warm, and easy to connect with.

For new team members, Jam offers a piece of advice based on her own experience: do not hesitate to connect with your teammates. Building strong relationships at work can make busy days more enjoyable and helps create a more supportive and positive environment for everyone.

Entertainment Friday has always been a special time for the team to connect and unwind together. Creative themes, engaging hosts, fun games, and exciting prizes have made it a virtual team bonding event that many of us look forward to.

We’d like to share an update regarding the Entertainment Friday program schedule.

Starting this year, Entertainment Friday will transition from a quarterly event to a semi-annual event. Instead of four smaller events, we will now host two larger events each year, featuring expanded activities and enhanced prize offerings.

This change will allow us to provide a more engaging and memorable experience, offer larger and more meaningful prizes, build greater anticipation and participation, improve event planning and coordination, align celebrations with key project and performance milestones, and maximize the overall impact of our recognition efforts.

By focusing our resources on two major events each year, we aim to create even more exciting and rewarding Entertainment Friday experiences for everyone.
